How the treatment works
The CoolSculpting procedure works by controlled cooling by selectively targeting fat cells under the skin. These fat cells crystallize (become frozen) and are destroyed. Over time, your body naturally processes fat and eliminates these dead cells*. Results? You, with a more sculpted profile.
The course of the CoolSculpting cryolipolysis session
The patient is received in a hygienic and individual treatment room. Treatments begin only after the patient's consent. They are generally preceded by an exchange with the doctor, who explains to the patient the course of the cryolipolysis session. The patient undresses and puts on a sterile gown. He is then placed on a medical examination table covered with a sterile single-use sheet.
The cryolipolysis session lasts between 35 to 45 minutes depending on the number of areas to be treated and the amount of fat to be eliminated.

The nurse places a gel pad to protect the skin then applies a device combining the effects of suction and cold to the area to be treated. When the device pulls the beads in the cooling panels, the patient feels a strong pinch as well as an intense cold. Tingling may also occur but disappear with numbness in the treated area.
In a few minutes, the temperature, continuously controlled by the cryolipolysis machine, is lowered to around -10 degrees and then maintained throughout the time required to eliminate the fat. CoolSculpting® cryolipolysis is thus performed in a targeted and safe manner, without damaging the skin tissue.
The cooling treatment by cryolipolysis leads to the natural death of the targeted fat cells. Less sensitive to the cold, neighboring cells and muscles are not affected. Over the following weeks, the body begins to shed dead fat cells and the results of cryolipolysis begin to be visible.
The elimination of fat cells leads to a concentration of the remaining cells, a general reduction in the fat layer.
During the first few minutes of cooling, the patient feels intense pressure and cold. This impression disappears quite quickly. Comfortably installed during the CoolSculpting® cryolipolysis session, the patient can read, listen to music, check emails or take a nap during the treatment.
A slimming cryolipolysis session lasts an average of 70 minutes, depending on the number of areas to be treated and their extent.
Coolsculpting cryolipolysis is a painless slimming technique. A slight discomfort or even a little pain can simply be felt during the first minutes of the session. The cold puts the treated area to sleep about ten minutes after the start of the treatment.
The medical assistant regularly checks that the treatment is going well. Cryolipolysis machine applicators come in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit the natural contours of the body and to treat large areas in one go. At the end of the session, she removes the applicator and massages the area to break up the frozen adipocytes.
